The following is an example of how a week could be structured for a cross camp, but we cater to recreational riders, weekend warriors, professional athletes and everything in between.
Day One: Arrival & Spin
Airport/Rail pick-up at Toulouse International or Carcassonne.
The perfect introduction to the area, this coffee ride to Rennes le Chateau is a short, easy spin to shake out your legs. At the top of the 4k climb, enjoy a coffee in the courtyard that was used in the movie, The Davinci Code. (14mi/24k total)
Day Two: Road Ride - All the Castles
This 100km road ride is a great way to prepare for the rest of the week. During this four hour ride, you’ll experience the gradual climbs, the stunning views, and the area's history as you ride past close to a dozen Cathar Castles.
Day Three: Cyclocross Techniques & Efforts
Day three will include 1.5 hours of professional instruction with on the bike skills on varied terrain. We'll ride to and lunch in the nearby town of Limoux and roll 40km back to Rennes les Bains.
Day Four: Road Ride - The Gorge Ride
The 80km Gorge ride takes you on the magical roads surrounding the mountain of Bugarach. This ride starts with a long gradual climb, eventually leading to incredible descents under and over an old aquaduct, followed by the slight ascent through the Gorge of Galamus, a spectacular balcony road featuring a centuries old hermitage carved and built into the side of the gorge.
Day Five: Cyclocross Technique & Efforts
Similar to day three, today includes continued cyclocross technique and efforts. We will start the day with 1.5 hours of instruction focusing on new skills and honing skills from day one. The afternoon will include a 40km loop ride starting and ending in Rennes les Bains.
Day Six: Road ride - the plateau
At 120km, “The Plateau” ride is the whole shebang. Climb to 1000 meters; gentle climbs, switchbacked descents, one steep ascent and a brilliant descent back to a nice, flat finale.
Day Seven: Departure
Airport/Rail drop-off Toulouse/Carcassonne.
